Positioned to Perform

Born from the need to provide enhanced employee flexibility and satisfaction, while improving planning capabilities and operational performance, AD OPT Technologies was founded in 1987 by researchers from the internationally renowned decision analysis research group, GERAD.

With a vision of the ideal workplace that balances the organization's need for labor cost controls and improved planning and scheduling efficiencies, as well as the employee's need for flexible time management, AD OPT set on developing software solutions that automated and optimized the planning, scheduling and management of human resources - generally the most expensive and most important resource of any business.

Managing the Workforce Through Automation and Optimization

Working with leading transportation companies, we applied our expertise in optimization technology and developed two industry-specific workforce management solutions: ShiftLogic, a comprehensive enterprise workforce management system for the air traffic control industry and Altitude, a suite of crew planning, optimization and management solutions for the airline industry. Together, they became the global leaders within their respective industries, scheduling thousands of pilots, flight attendants and air traffic control operators around the world.

To highlight its growing success, AD OPT became a public company in 1999. Listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) under the symbol AOP, AD OPT is a financially strong and stable enterprise with a history of R&D innovation.

Fast Forward

With a customer-centric philosophy and a history of innovation, AD OPT's core solutions have evolved and expanded into new functionalities and industries reflecting client needs. The ShiftLogic division applied their workforce management experiences to the manufacturing, hospitality, transportation and other labour intensive industries. Clients such as Network Rail of the U.K., Virgin Blue Airlines of Australia, and Cofiroute of France have purchased ShiftLogic's modular ShiftLogic SL5 solution. With the 2001 purchase of Total Care Technologies, AD OPT applied its workforce optimization expertise to the healthcare industry by developing and supporting innovative staff scheduling solutions that help hospitals deliver patient care more efficiently.

Today, more than 400 facilities around the world plan, manage and schedule their employees using our industry-specific software solutions that generate real-world, numerous financial (a measurable, positive return on investment) and non-financial benefits. AD OPT optimizes and automates the scheduling process allowing labor-intensive organizations to enhance both individual and organizational performance.
